ADOPTION APPLICATION AND CONTRACT
 
Thank you for coming to Kitty Keepers to adopt your cat or kitten. He/She will provide you many years of companionship and enjoyment. The cats here come from a variety of sources, circumstances and environments.

The purpose of the Adoption Contract is to ensure the safety, happiness and humane treatment of the cat being adopted from the sanctuary.

The cat’s welfare is our foremost consideration and responsibility. This application is designed to help us assist you in finding a pet most compatible with your lifestyle. Please understand the cat/kitten you are looking to adopt was previously unwanted or lost and may have been rescued from a dangerous/ unhealthy and/or cruel situation. This could result in the cat’s emotional or physical illness. Each cat is examined upon entering the sanctuary, but a cat may be incubating a disease without showing any clinical signs. The cat’s health is the responsibility of the new owner.

KITTY KEEPERS requires a fee of $50.00 for each adoption to help defray our expenses for the food and includes testing, vaccinations, altering and micro-chipping.. Kitty Keepers requires a veterinary reference in writing for your veterinarian.

Please Note: This Adoption Contract and Application includes a 1(one) month Trail period in which the adopter may return the cat/kitten if he/she feels that the arrangement is not satisfactory for any reason. At this time the donation will be refunded, or the adopter may decide to select another cat/kitten. KITTY KEEPERS wants you, the adopter, to call us at ANY time to make arrangements to return the cat/kitten if you are unable to keep the cat for any reason.

KITTY KEEPERS reserves the right to refuse adoption to anyone for any reason. The Adoption Contract and Application does not guarantee that the chosen cat/kitten will be available for adoption. No cat/kitten will be adopted to any individual who misleads or fails to provide accurate information on the Adoption Contract and Application.

KITTY KEEPERS

THE UNDERSIGNED SPECIFICALLY AGREES TO THE FOLLOWING

1. To have the cat/kitten spayed or neutered if not done so already.

2. To give the cat/kitten a permanent indoor home for the remainder of its life.

3. To give the cat/kitten fresh water, wholesome food, a clean litter box and constant affection

4. Have the cat/kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian at least once yearly. In case of illness or injury, you agree to seek prompt veterinary care.

5. Allow KITTY KEEPERS to conduct a follow-up phone call after adoption, to make sure cat/kitten is adjusting to the new home/family/pet environment.


KITTY KEEPERS is not liable for any losses, injuries, damages, costs, expenses, liabilities, lawsuits ore judgments whatsoever in connection with the adoption of the cat/kitten.
