Hi Penny.
I thought you might enjoy this picture of Roxie (we renamed her
Sophie…it’s much more fitting for her). I am just amazed at how
she has come around. I had my doubts when we first brought her home!
Remember when she buried her head all the time? It has taken 4 months
for her to come this far and she still is tentative around people,
and doesn’t like to be held, but she follows my daughter around
like a little puppy. She purrs and chirps, rubs up against things
when my daughter comes home. Sophie practically lives in my daughter’s
room. And that is great because I really wanted this cat to be for
her.
I am going to have to get a picture of our dog around her. Our 100
pound German Shepherd trembles in fear when Sophie walks by him.
She can definitely hold her own!
This is such a great success story and it really is a testament
to what a loving environment can do. My advice to others who adopt
a timid cat is to be patient and let her come out on her own terms.
Everyday Sophie is more and more comfortable and everyday she ventures
out a little more, trusts us a little more. We really love her and
are thankful she came into our lives. I just wanted to pass this
on to you….
Hope all is well at Kitty Keepers.
